Uplifted Realty is committed to equal opportunity in housing. Every person who contacts us receives the same service, the same information, and the same access to property, without exception.
The Law
The federal Fair Housing Act prohibits discrimination in the sale, rental, financing, and advertising of housing on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, and disability.
The Florida Fair Housing Act, sections 760.20 through 760.37, Florida Statutes, prohibits the same conduct under state law and is enforced by the Florida Commission on Human Relations.
Several counties and municipalities we serve have adopted human rights ordinances that protect additional characteristics beyond the federal and state lists. We comply with every such ordinance that applies where we are working.
Our Commitment Goes Further
Independent of what any statute requires, Uplifted Realty does not discriminate against any person on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, national origin, ancestry, familial status, marital status, age, disability, military or veteran status, or source of lawful income.
What This Means in Practice
A fair housing commitment is only meaningful if it changes how the work is done. Ours does:
- We do not steer. We will not guide you toward or away from any neighborhood based on its demographics. Any information we provide about an area, we provide to every client who asks.
- We will not characterize the people who live somewhere. If you ask what “kind of people” live in a neighborhood, or whether an area is “good” in that sense, we will decline and point you instead to objective public sources — census data, school district records, crime statistics, and municipal reports — so you can draw your own conclusions from facts rather than from ours.
- We do not accept discriminatory instructions. If a seller or landlord directs us to exclude or prefer buyers or tenants on a protected basis, we will refuse and, if the instruction stands, we will withdraw from the engagement.
- Our advertising carries no preference. Listing descriptions, photographs, and marketing we produce describe property, never the people we imagine living in it.
- We support reasonable accommodations and modifications. If you have a disability, you may be entitled to a change in rules, policies, or practices, or to make physical modifications to a dwelling. We will explain the difference and help you make the request.
- Assistance animals are not pets. A service animal or support animal is not subject to pet restrictions or pet fees, and we will say so on your behalf.
- Language is not a barrier. We conduct business in English and Russian, and we will arrange interpretation for other languages rather than let a language gap narrow your options.
Accessibility
Access to housing information includes access to this website. Our Accessibility Statement describes what we do to keep upliftedrealty.com usable by everyone, and how to reach us if any part of it stands in your way.
Professional Standards
Konstantin Bogatyrev holds the National Association of REALTORS® At Home With Diversity® certification and is bound by the REALTOR® Code of Ethics, including Article 10, which prohibits discrimination in real estate services. If You Believe You Have Been Treated Unfairly
Tell us first, if you are willing. We want the chance to correct it, and we will look into any concern raised about our conduct.
You are also entitled to go directly to the agencies that enforce these laws, and you do not need our permission or involvement to do so:
- U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development — 1-800-225-5342 / (TTY 1-800-877-8339), https://www.hud.gov/hud-partners#FairHousing
- Florida Commission on Human Relations — (850) 488-7082, fchr.myflorida.com
- Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation, for complaints about a real estate licensee — myfloridalicense.com
Fair housing complaints are generally subject to filing deadlines, so do not wait on our internal review before contacting an agency if you wish to file.
